What is NepEdu?
NepEdu is education management software for institutions in Nepal. It holds student and staff records, academics, attendance, exams, fees, payroll and the library in one system, with Bikram Sambat dates and the Nepal-specific fields institutions actually report on.

Every vendor has a list like this. Most make you find it during implementation. If one of these is a requirement for your institution, it is better for both of us that you know now.
Online payment gateway
There is no eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay integration. Fees are recorded as payments a parent declares and the institution verifies, and a declared payment never touches the ledger until someone confirms it.
Biometric attendance devices
No fingerprint, RFID or facial-recognition hardware integration. Attendance is taken in the app, on a phone or a browser.
Transport and GPS tracking
No vehicle tracking and no route management. A transport charge can be billed as a fee head; that is the extent of it.
Inventory, assets and procurement
The library has its own stocktake for books. General institution inventory, asset registers and purchasing are not built.
SMS
Notifications go out by push and email. SMS is designed but not shipped, and when it arrives it will be a paid add-on because the messages themselves cost money.
The mobile app
Built and in testing, not yet released on the stores. Everything works in a mobile browser in the meantime.

- Role-based, with per-person grants and revocations on top of the role. Scoping between institutions fails closed.
- Getting data in
- Bulk import from Excel, with a dry run and a guarded revert before anything commits.
- Getting data out
- Your records export in readable form without a support ticket or a fee.
- AI
- Gyanu, the built-in assistant, is off unless the institution turns it on. AI-written content is labelled and, where it reaches a parent, a teacher approves it first.
- Backups
- Encrypted and held off-site, in a different jurisdiction from the live platform, on storage an intruder with platform access cannot delete.
- Deletion
- Reversible. Removing a record takes it out of use without destroying it.

- Who is NepEdu for?
- Educational institutions in Nepal. That includes schools and +2, colleges, CTEVT and technical institutes, coaching centres, language institutes, vocational and professional training institutes, and academies such as music, dance and sports schools. The institution type decides which capabilities are switched on by default; it never changes who can see what, which is governed by roles and permissions alone.
- Does NepEdu submit data to IEMIS?
- No, and no private software does. Submission runs through official CEHRD and local education office channels using your institution's own credentials. What NepEdu changes is how accurate and ready your underlying records are when you come to report, and it holds the Nepal-specific fields the reporting cycle asks about.
- Does NepEdu support online fee payment?
- Not through a payment gateway. There is no eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay integration today. Fees work as a parent-declared payment that the institution verifies, and nothing reaches the fee ledger until a staff member confirms it. If you need cards or wallets collected inside the product, NepEdu does not do that yet.
- Does NepEdu work with biometric attendance machines?
- No. There is no fingerprint, RFID or facial-recognition device integration. Attendance is marked in the app by a teacher or by staff, on a phone or in a browser. If a device integration is a requirement for you, that is a genuine gap rather than something on the near horizon.
- Can we get our data out if we leave?
- Yes. Records export in a readable form, without a support ticket and without a fee. An institution's records should never be hostage to a subscription, so this is worth asking every vendor you evaluate, including us, before you sign rather than after.
- Is NepEdu available in Nepali?
- The public site is available in English and Nepali, and NepEdu handles Nepali text and Bikram Sambat dates throughout, including in the documents it generates. Most administrators in Nepal work in English day to day, so English remains the primary interface language.
