The short version
Two very different places
This website (nepedu.com) uses Google Analytics to count visits, and Microsoft Clarity to see where people click and get stuck. Those two are the only non-essential things we set, and you can turn both off.
The NepEdu app your institution signs in to runs no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking at all. It stores your sign-in token so you stay logged in. Nothing else.
We do not sell what we collect, we do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not share it with advertisers.
What this website sets

Analytics tells us things like “180 people read the pricing section this week”. It does not tell us who you are, and we have not enabled any advertising or remarketing features on it.
Clarity is the more intrusive of the two, so it is worth being precise about it. It replays your visit as movement, clicks and scrolling on our public pages. It is not a recording of your screen or your camera, it does not follow you to other websites, and it never runs on the signed-in application, which is where the learner records are. The only form on this site is the contact form, and the only pages it can see are the public ones you are reading now.
Neither one loads until you say so
Both used to load the moment you opened the site, before you had been asked. They no longer do. Until you answer the prompt, neither script is on the page at all, and if you say no it is never fetched. Not answering counts as no.
What the NepEdu app stores
Once your institution signs in to the platform, the picture is much simpler. The application runs no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking scripts whatsoever. That is deliberate, because the app is full of learners’ records, most of them children’s, and those have no business being fed to anyone else.
- Your sign-in. Something has to be kept in your browser so you stay signed in as you move between pages. Signing out, or clearing your browser data, removes it.
- Small interface preferences. Things like which view you last had open, so the app opens where you left it.
Both are strictly necessary to make the product work, and neither is shared with anyone.
How to turn analytics off
The quickest way is the switch above: it is our own, it takes effect immediately, and it stops the scripts being requested at all. The rest of these work regardless of what we do, which is why they are still worth listing.
- Your browser. Every major browser can block or clear cookies for a site, usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking them here costs you nothing: this site works perfectly without them.
- Google’s own opt-out. Google publishes a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on every site you visit, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Microsoft’s own opt-out. Clarity honours the standard opt-out at choice.microsoft.com/opt-out.
- A tracker blocker. Any of the common privacy extensions will block both, and we are not going to complain about that.
Changes to this page
